About College of Education

The College of Education was founded in 1948. We are the the biggest teacher education college in Korea, having 70 years of history and tradition. Currently, there are 23 departments, 121 faculties and 2,400 students, making it the largest college of education in Korea. Among the nearly 20,000 graduate students, more than 10,000 are currently working in public schools, education institutions, and universities. Annually, more than 300 students pass the Official Appointment Examination for The School Teacher. In the last 5 years (16-20 years), a total of 2,002 students passed the exam. The College of Education and each department are operating various competency enhancement programs linked to educational fields to foster excellent teachers. In addition, alumni are actively participating in the sponsorship of student scholarships. The College of Education is highly rated externally, consistently receiving the highest grade in the Evaluation of Teacher Training Institutes hosted by the Ministry of Education.
